A Business quiz will be held at Karunya University as a part of Phorensis 12- an All India Management Inter Collegiate meet on 22/11/2012. The rules of the quiz are as follows:

  • Number of participants per team: 2
  •  Registration fees/Team: Rs 400
  • Prize Money :  1) Winners :Rs.6,000                                                                             2) Runners Up: Rs 3000 
  • There will be a preliminary round from which 10 teams would qualify for the 1st finals, from which the top 6 teams will qualify for the 2nd final round from which the winners and the runners up would be decided.

Mahaquizzer 2012

The eighth edition of KQA's MahaQuizzer will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Panaji, Coimbatore, Thrissur and Mysore on Sunday 27th May 2012.

MahaQuizzer is the National Solo Quizzing Championship.
It is open to all, though it is recommended that the taker be at least 12 years of age. The quiz will require takers to answer 150 questions in 90 minutes--in celebration of the ethic of working out questions.

Entry is free.

The setters are: Mitesh Agarwal, Urmila Lakshmanan, Vivek Kartikeyan, Rajagopal P.S., and Rahul Kottalgi.

Prizes will be awarded for the best performances from School, College, Lady and Open entrants. In addition, the all-India winner will receive the Wing  Commander GR Mulky Memorial Trophy for Quizzing Excellence at the three-day KQA Anniversary Celebrations in June (29, 30 June and 1 July).

OQ #77

Been a while since we had one of these (4 months, to be exact :|). Anyway, thanks to Sticky's magnanimous efforts, I've decided to post the A-Z round he had for his farewell quiz as the question for today. This is a treat for those of you who missed seeing his quiz. For those who didn't, well, tough luck :D


When __A__ was asked why he decided to spell __B__ as such, he said it was a __C__-esque touch.

__C__ is known to have collaborated with __D__, who has a very unique unit named after him.

__D__'s workplace was called 'The Factory' and the character of __D__ was played by __E__ in a 1996 movie named after __C__ (It was a Biopic of __C__)

__E__ has also played the character of __F__ in a 2006 film __G__, about a rivalry and an ultimate 'trick'.

__F__, in real life is known to have had a major rivalry with __H__, termed __I__.

__H__ holds 1093 US Patents in his name.

__J__ is the Director of __G__. He has also directed a movie __K__ based on a short story written by __L__.

__L__ has also made a special appearance as a policeman in __J__'s first film __M__.

__J__ is set to release a film in 2012, in which __N__ stars in a role, that has previously been played by __O__, who won a Razzie for the performance.

The characters __Z__ and __W__ have later been confirmed to be brothers by __A__, who has ben trying to work a movie with both brothers in it, however, the project remains unrealized.

2. Mind-Sweep 2012
The Karnataka Quizzing Association (KQA) launches its inaugural International Solo Quizzing Championship, titled Mind-Sweep. The quiz is split into 10 sections of 20 questions each, 200 questions in all to be answered in 2 sessions of 60 minutes each with a 30 minute break in between for corrections.
